Tottenham Hotspur won match against Sheffield United away with comfortable result of 3:0.North London side was much better team, had very big percentage of ball possession, crated far more chances and came to totally deserved victory. Goal scorers were Dejan Kulusevski in 14. and 65. and Pedro Porro in 59. minute. What I liked about this match the most is how Radu Dragusin prevented bullying of goalkeeper Vicario on corners. Kulusevski scored very nice first goal from his position inside the box. That reminded me on his first 6 month in club and goal against Aston Villa away. He made me think if he can be of good use at striker position in case of emergency. Pedro Porro scored in his style. He sent rocket under the crossbar after Johnson passed ball back to him in very smart way and very good play by Son on left wing. Third goal was again superb finish by Dejan Kulusevski. Madders sent ball inside and Dejo was on right time in right place and sent ball inside the net. Starting eleven were: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Van de Ven, Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son and Johnson. Royal, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Scarlett and Moore came in from the bench deep into second half. Premier League season 2023/24 is over, Spurs are 5th which is much better place than I thought they will occupy at the end. After selling the best striker and player Harry Kane to Bayern I thought North London side will be around 10th place. However flying start of season and 1. place after 10 weeks brought non realistic expectations and when we check where Spurs were in January it can be seen like little under achieving now. Season was full of ups and downs, especially calendar 2024 year. Tottenham didn't do much in domestic cups and didn't play some spectacular football in league despite plenty of time for training between fixtures. My general impression is that this club played serious mainly in second halves. I have no clue what is the reason behind this. Next season club will play Europa League. There are going to be plenty of midweek games, a lot less time for training. We can only hope club's board will do "fast flowing attacking" summer transfer window, get rid of some not good enough and bring in some quality players. Ange had little better result than Poch in his first 2014/15 season. We'll see quality of players he and board will bring in during summer. Problems we need to solve for next season are big. If we want to compete for the title we need better forward line and serious reinforcement in midfield. We must also fix back post cross problems, high diagonal ball problems, defensive set pieces problems. We conceded to many goals this season despite every individual in our defense and goalkeeper were excellent. This style of play need little tweaks especially against the stronger opponents.The biggest problem however is invisible force which make players don't play serious in a lot of games. We need to eliminate that force, stop under estimating weaker on paper and play every game serious form beginning to the end in next season. Long 2-3 months without Premier League football are in front of us. I wish every player good summer holiday and better next season. Until then COYS!
